Abstract

The article is devoted to the issues of foreign language communicative competence formation of civil protection service specialists. In order to conduct this research, a detailed analysis of important domestic scientific sources of the topic, standards of higher education at different levels, and the National Framework of Qualifications was carried out. The example of these regulatory documents shows that the communicative component, namely communicative competence, is a component of the professional competence of experienced highly qualified specialists. Considering the professional training of future specialists in the field of civil protection, it is emphasized that one of the priority tasks of training is the formation of professionally significant abilities and skills, in particular, communication skills. Inhibiting factors affecting the formation and development of the communicative function during professional training, which may become an obstacle during professional activity in the future, are identified. It is proven that a civil servant, performing his direct official duties, must combine communicative abilities and foreign language knowledge, and successfully use them in his professional activity, which will contribute to the process of formation of foreign language communicative competence, since mastering the means of foreign language communication occurs during the implementation of speech activities in real professional circumstances. At the same time, the authors emphasize that specialists of the civil protection service must be able not only to combine special professional knowledge and skills, knowledge of the English language and communication skills, but also to be in a constant state of balancing between them, taking into account the importance of linguistic units in his communication, in order to ensure a high level of work performed in his professional activity. It is emphasized that the success of solving professional tasks largely depends on the level of formation of foreign language communicative competence of specialists.
